Aprovecha la baja por maternidad para irse con su bebé a dar la vuelta al mundo

La mayoría de las familias, y más en los tiempos que corren, no se les pasa por la cabeza viajar por el mundo, y menos con un bebé de 10 meses en casa. Karen Edwards, de 31 años, y marido Shaun Bayes, pensaron totalmente lo contrario y tras el nacimiento de su hija, Esme, decidieron embarcarse en una aventura familiar en el período de la baja por maternidad. La pequeña, junto con sus padres, exploró lugares como Asia, Australia y Nueva Zelanda durante 10 meses, según Daily Mail.

Ni los parientes cercanos de la familia pudieron frenar la idea de Karen, la cual afirma que la calificaron como una persona "completamente loca". La pareja manifestó que llevaban bastante tiempo interesados en hacerse mochileros, antes de quedarse embarazada. En pleno período de lactancia, la familia ha visitado Irlanda, Singapur, Australia, Indonesia, Malasia, Vietman y Hong Kong.

El matrimonio ha compartido las fotografías de sus viajes en su cuenta Instagram @travelmadmum y ha creado el blog 'Travel Mad Mum'con el objetivo de animar, a otras familias, a viajar con los pequeños de la casa.

La 'locura' les costó 10.000 libras y lo pagaban por medio del dinero que recibían de la baja por maternidad de Karen, y los trabajos extra de jardinería que realizaba su marido en Nueva Zelanda.También intentaban ahorrar por todos los medios, como reservar los vuelos con varios meses de antelación.

I am so glad the erupting volcano did not stop us from getting to Bali. The sporadic spews of ash over the last week had been bringing air traffic to a halt. Luckily we were not affected! This place provides a sensory overload for any adult, child or baby. How can I take you here without actually being here? Imagine: The burning smell of incense everywhere you go. This seems to make me feel automatically very relaxed. The perfect warm temperature. Unless you exert yourself too much, making it the perfect excuse to take it easy and have a couple of the local bintang beers. The beautiful beaches with perfectly formed waves. I, the person that does not put there head under the water, very badly attempted surfing today! Needless to say I was tossed around like a rag doll by the waves. So I have a bikini that fits fine and also had my hair tied up. However , no matter what, I consistently emerged from the water with one boob out and hair all over my face. Haha.. How do these surfer chica's always look immaculate? Luckily I was hollered to my baby watching from the sideline that had just woke up and felt the need to intervene with the chaos going on in front of her eyes. The beautiful Balinese people. Their warm smile and friendly attitude. They seem to just LOVE baby's. The food is just so yum! An explosion of lemongrass, lime, spice and all things nice is how I can explain it simply. My biggest concern about travelling through these countries with a baby was related to the food. Especially as she is extremely fussy and egg allergic. What the hell would she eat? I can safely say she has eaten more over the last two days than ever before. Our small selection of toys have become null in-void. Instead she is being stimulated by the hustle-bustle of the narrow cobbled streets, the local people waving and showing their affection, the beautiful scenery and endless activities. Aunque, no todo es de color rosa. Los padres confesaron que tuvieron momentos de todo tipo, como que alguna noche les apetecía tomarse una cerveza en el bar del hotel, pero lo sustituían por quedarse en la habitación al estar Esmedormida y no querer despertarla. O estar en una ciudad con mucha gente y a su hija le entraba una rabieta por encontrarse incómoda.

Checking out all the stamps in her little passport. Just about to board flight 5 of 9 in 7 weeks! It has been raining most days her in Malaysia but at least it was warm. Really so excited for our next stop- Vietnam! We have 24 hours in Ho Chi Minh before we escape the city. A pesar de todo, el matrimonio no se arrepiente de nada y afirman que lo más duro fue volver a casa, ya que la pequeña nunca ha estado establecida en un sitio por mucho tiempo. Karen no encuentra ninguna forma de entretener a su hija de ahora 17 meses. Por ello, la familia ya está preparando su próxima aventura: viajar Tailandia, Cmaboya y Nueva Zelanda.
